AAMVA in cooperation with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has created the Commercial Vehicle Safety Award to recognize the jurisdiction, agency or person who has made significant contributions to improving highway safety involving commercial vehicles and their drivers.
Nominations for this award may be made on behalf of a state, agency or person. The intent of the award is to recognize those who have contributed most significantly to the reduction of fatalities or crashes. It is also directed at those who contribute significantly to driver improvement in the commercial vehicle community. Potential nominees may be a state agency, CDL tester, law enforcement officer or agency or motor vehicle administration personnel.
The criteria for this award extends beyond the traditional Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP).
Completed nomination forms are due June 24, 2010.
