AAMVA Names Schuster President and CEO

Arlington, VA--
The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) Board of Directors today announced the hiring of Neil Schuster as the new AAMVA President and CEO.

“At a time in our industry, and in our association, where change is the only constant, it is refreshing to have someone with Neil’s background in organizational management onboard,” said Deb Hillmer, chair, AAMVA Board of Directors. “I believe he is the right person, at the right time, to lead our members through this time of change.”

Neil comes to AAMVA with more than 24 years of experience in association management in the transportation arena. Prior to his selection, Neil served as President and CEO of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America, where he led the organization through a time of change and developed a long-term strategy that met the needs of members and stakeholders.

“I look forward to putting my years of experience in transportation and organizational management to work to benefit the state Departments of Motor Vehicles (DMVs) in the United States and Canada,” said Schuster.

Prior to ITS America, Neil held senior level positions at the International Bridge, Tunnel & Turnpike Association, Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association and the American Waterways Operators. He is also actively involved in the American Society of Association Executives and the Center for Association Leadership.

Schuster assumes his new role at AAMVA headquarters in Arlington, Va., Aug. 1, 2007.

Founded in 1933, AAMVA actively promotes traffic safety and uniformity among North American jurisdictions. Representing chief motor vehicle administrators and law enforcement officials, the association develops uniform programs in driver licensing, vehicle titling/registration and motor carrier services, among others.
