I am pleased to invite you to take part in the 2008 American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators’ Annual Region IV Conference, to be held June 16-19 at the Hyatt Grand Champion in beautiful Palm Springs, California.
Our conference theme, “Innovative Leadership - Meeting the Challenge,” underscores the importance of creating opportunities for collaboration and creative problem solving. True success is all about partnerships and I know this conference will afford the opportunity to learn from each other. The conference team is putting together a dynamite agenda which will cover a plethora of today’s hot DMV and law enforcement topics.
The California DMV motto of “Driving Change, to Save You Time,” reflects our commitment to provide Californians with the best customer service possible; service that recognizes and acknowledges how people want and expect to be served. The old Chinese adage, “may you live in interesting times,” is pertinent to both the challenges and opportunities that face us as motor vehicle administrators, so I look forward to our time together.
Palm Springs is our true oasis in the desert. Once a weekend getaway for the rich and famous, Palm Springs is now a trendy vacation destination where award-winning restaurants, designer boutiques, art galleries and museums abound. Oh, did I mention the over 100 golf courses? The conference accommodations are truly an oasis within an oasis. The Hyatt Grand Champions Resort & Spa is an enclave of sparkling fountains, waterways and swimming pools. It is the ideal environment for creative thinking and for lots of fun for the entire family.
I look forward to seeing you in Palm Springs!
Sincerely,

George Valvderde
Region IV President
