AAMVA monitors U.S. federal and state legislative initiatives affecting the motor vehicle and law enforcement communities. Because Capitol Hill's actions can have a significant impact on AAMVA members' operations and procedures, we monitor changes and involve the membership on issues and trends that affect the community.
AAMVA maintains relationships with key congressional and legislative staff and is regularly called upon to represent the membership's views at legislative hearings and other public forums. Members often testify on behalf of the association.
AAMVA's Government Affairs department encourages all members to stay informed about legislative issues and to be involved in the process.
