The Nevada Purchasing Division on behalf of the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking proposals for manufacturing systems that will produce, print and issue registration decals, vehicle registration renewal certificates, motor carrier International Registration Plan (IRP) and vehicle identification cab cards. The project includes various registration decals, registration renewal certificates, hardware, software and programming for integration into current DMV systems. The systems must be able to accommodate the varying sizes of registration decals. Any size decal the systems will not support must be supplied by the Vendor. The varying decals include, but are not limited to, standard license plates, golf cart permits, handicap motorcycle decals, and motor carrier International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) decals. The decals will be distributed to field offices, county assessors and the DMV’s vehicle registration business partners by the Department.
The system request is for printing in a central mail environment and print on demand or point of sale. The print on demand or point of sale solution proposed must be designed to work with the system for motor carrier operations. The central mail environment solution proposed must be designed to work with the system for the Department’s renewal by mail process. The stock provided for the motor carrier operation and the renewal by mail operation may be unique to that operation but the final appearance of the printed registration decals and registration renewal certificates must be exactly the same. Print on demand or point of sale applications for vehicle registrations throughout the State is an option we may consider in the future. This portion of the RFP response should be a stand alone proposal although the Vendor chosen will be based upon the printing in a central mail environment.
