Standards - ISO Issuer Identification Numbers & RID

AAMVA issued a memorandum in 1993 which established procedures for obtaining an ISO Issuer Identification Number (IIN). Please see the IIN Application and Forms for those procedures. Please note: An ISO IIN is required for a jurisdiction to comply with the AAMVA Standard for Driver Licenses & Identification Documents.

Pursuant to the requirements in ISO 7816-5, AAMVA applied for and obtained a Registered Application Provider Identifier (RID) to be used in the future for any "smart card" applications that the AAMVA membership would be involved in.

ISO IINs Issued as of January 2007
