The California DMV offices will be closed for business the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Friday of every month from August 2009 to June 2010.
Their systems will be up and fully operational during the Friday closures.
There will be no personnel to respond to e-mails or phone calls during the Friday closures. |

No decision yet if there will be more furlough days in 2010, but it is a real possibility.
Individual vehicle titles/registrations are handled at the county level in Colorado, so those services are generally not affected by the state offices being closed on furlough days. Each county has different budgetary challenges and a few are closed various days during the month. Elbert, Fremont and Routt counties are closed every Friday.
Dealer titles are usually handled at the state level and therefore closed on furlough days. However, dealers can receive limited services at county offices when the state is closed. |

Division of Motor Vehicles Offices to be Closed on Wednesdays for Staff Training
Effective Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, all Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) locations will be closed to the public each Wednesday, through February 17, for staff training on a new, statewide DMV computer system.
