Purpose and Authority
The Working Group shall review the problems associated with the lack of standardization of registration and insurance cards between jurisdictions. While vehicle registration documentation is primarily under the authority of state vehicle license authorities, insurance cards are not. Toward that end, it is recognized the Insurance Industry Committee on Motor Vehicle Administration (IICMVA) is an important partner to the Working Group. AAMVA Staff will coordinate the Working Group activities but the Working Group will be chaired by a member of the Enforcement Standing Committee and be comprised of AAMVA member representatives.
