Terry Dillinger Retires

Longtime AAMVA member Terry Dillinger will retire from the Iowa Department of Transportation on June 28, 2007. Dillinger has been with the Iowa Department of Transportation since 1978, starting as a Driver License Examiner. He was promoted to Senior Driver License Examiner and then to Chief Examiner. In 1986, he was named Driver Records Manager. In 1991, Dillinger was named Director of the Office of Driver Services, Motor Vehicle Division, with management responsibility for the statewide driver licensing program, and has been an active member of the Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS) project team.

In Iowa, he has a reputation for excellence, innovation and integrity, and through his work with AAMVA, is respected for those same qualities by his peers throughout the nation. He has been instrumental in developing partnerships with constituent groups, including members of the law enforcement community and members of the judicial branch, leading to the development of electronic citations and other electronic data collection tools.

Dillinger has been involved in many AAMVA committees, working groups, task groups, and the MOVE Editorial Board. Please join AAMVA in wishing Dillinger the best as he turns the page to a new chapter in life.
