Arlington, VA – This week, AAMVA President and CEO Linda Lewis-Pickett, announced that in a restructuring, Michael Calvin, senior vice president, Programs Division, was appointed as the Deputy CEO. He replaces Executive Vice President Larry Greenberg, who retired this month after 15 years of service with the organization.
Mike Calvin has extensive experience managing driver’s license and vehicle issues, and has led AAMVA’s programs division for over 15 years.
“Mike’s extensive experience in the motor vehicle industry, and his management skills, make him a natural fit for the position,” said Lewis-Pickett. “I truly look forward to Mike’s assistance in managing the association as AAMVA strives to provide the best service possible for our members while staying abreast of issues that impact them.”
In addition to Calvin’s appointment, AAMVA is streamlining operations within the association to improve efficiencies in program areas. This new organizational structure was effective May 1, 2006.
“With Larry Greenberg’s retirement, it was an opportune time to explore how we could best position the association to continue building relationships with stakeholders and delivering member services,” said Lewis-Pickett. “And in his new role, Mike will focus his energy on a critical responsibility: member relations.”
Calvin will oversee the following divisions; product development, programs, and stakeholder relations.
Lewis-Pickett continued, “This is an exciting time for AAMVA, and I look forward to the new opportunities it will reveal. But it is also a time to recognize the tremendous contributions made by outgoing Executive Vice President Larry Greenberg. His efforts at AAMVA throughout the years have been very much appreciated and he will be greatly missed by the entire AAMVA family.”
Founded in 1933, AAMVA actively promotes traffic safety and uniformity among North American jurisdictions. Representing chief motor vehicle administrators and law enforcement officials, the association develops uniform programs in driver licensing, vehicle titling/registration and motor carrier services, among others.
