AAMVA’s partners in standards activities have always been the membership. Without direct input and participation from the jurisdictions, no real progress could ever truly be enjoyed.
Others who contribute significantly include AAMVA’s industry advocates and the federal government. For years, the Industry Advisory Board has played a major role in helping AAMVA achieve its goals with standards as has the federal government with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) being regular contributors and participants in the development process.
