One of the primary activities of the AAMVA membership is vehicle registration. Registration activities contribute to the safety mission of AAMVA by:
- Helping law enforcement identify a vehicle involved in a crime, crash or traffic violation;
- Enforcing vehicle safety inspections where required by the jurisdiction;
- Verifying insurance of the vehicle
- Helping to notify owners where vehicle recalls are required.
Committee Involvement
A number of Vehicle Registration and Title (VRT) Committee projects address vehicle and registration title issues. The committee also promotes AAMVA polices related to registration.
