One of the primary activities of the AAMVA membership is titling vehicles. Titling activities contribute to the safety mission of AAMVA by:
- Verifying proof of ownership and other identifying information about the vehicle
- Verifying the safe operating condition of vehicles (i.e. brands for salvage, flood or other damage)
- Providing the Vehicle Identification Numbers needed in order to conduct safety recalls.
Committee Involvement
A number of Vehicle Registration and Title (VRT) discipline projects address vehicle titling issues. The committee also promotes AAMVA policies related to titling.
