The following information is provided for individuals seeking information on Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO), also known as a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO):
To obtain information for new manufacturers of motor vehicles and motor vehicle equipment (including vehicle identification number – VIN), visit the Equipment and Imports Division of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Web site.
While there are other vendors that can assist, the following AAMVA associate members provide MCO services:
AAMVA has a policy on “Titling/Certificate of Origin,” including “Specifications for Printing a Manufacturers Certificate of Origin (MCO) for Motor Vehicle Standards.”
