Discipline Mission
The Legal Services Discipline serves to identify and review legal issues affecting the motor vehicle and related law enforcement communities and advise the Standing Committees and all corporate boards of AAMVA and its related corporations.
Goals:
- Develop model legislation and regulations.
- Monitor and analyze pending legislation.
- Assist in the development of interjurisdictional agreements.
- Promote and support uniformity among the jurisdictions.
- Provide advice on compliance with legal mandates.
- Promote communication among jurisdictional lawyers.
- Advance the competency and professionalism of motor vehicle and highway safety attorneys.
- Promote the sharing of legal information with motor vehicle and highway safety administrators and related law enforcement officials.
- Obtain sufficient funding to support the ongoing activities and projects of the committee.
- Interact, promote and establish liaisons with associations and groups related to the motor vehicle and highway safety community.
