Maryland Governor Appoints Kuo to Lead Maryland MVA

Maryland's Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. this week announced the appointment of John T. Kuo as Administrator of the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA). Kuo has served as a senior manager with the MVA for the past 11 years. Since October 2003 he has held the position of Chief Operating Officer overseeing the daily operations of the agency’s 1,700 employees and its 45 branch and testing facilities located throughout the state. Kuo’s appointment comes as former MVA Administrator David H. Hugel leaves the agency after nearly three years to accept a position as Deputy Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. “For more than a decade, John Kuo has demonstrated his deep commitment to the MVA’s mission of providing excellent customer service, promoting highway safety and protecting the interest of the consumer,” said Governor Ehrlich. “John is a professional who knows the MVA, inside and out. His wealth of experience makes him uniquely qualified to take customer service at the MVA to the next level.”
