Notice to Jurisdictions Regarding Model CDL Testing System
AAMVA released the 2005 Model Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Testing System to all jurisdictions in January 2006. In accordance with federal rulemaking, jurisdictions have until 2010 to implement the new testing system. A number of states have elected to move forward with implementation. Any jurisdiction who has not implemented the 2005 Model CDL Testing System should be using the following versions of the CDL materials:
- CDL Driver Manual v2.0
- CDL Examiners Manual v2.0
- CDL Written Tests v3.1
- CDL Item Pool v4.0 (automated testing)
- CDL Skills Test v2.0
