Georgia DDS Announces State Public Employee Recognition Award Winners
Georgia's Department of Driver Services (DDS) has received two State of Georgia Public Employee Recognition Awards. DDS received a Community Service (Team) Award for assistance with the Firefighter Relief Effort and an Innovations/Suggestions (Team) Award for the DDS Driver Examiner Hiring Initiative. DDS team members accepted the awards during a Georgia Public Employee Awards Recognition Program (GPEARP) held May 7th. Through GPEARP, Governor Sonny Perdue recognizes state employees for their unique achievement, unwavering devotion and dedicated service in areas such as customer service, community service, innovations and suggestions, safety, heroism, humanitarian, and leadership. The first step in the statewide recognition competition process is at the agency level. DDS employees were nominated by their managers/supervisors, peers and co-workers for this competition in the award categories of Customer Service (Team), Innovations/Suggestions (Team), Community Service (Team), Leadership (Team), Heroism and Humanitarian. Agency award recipients were selected by an executive leadership team and then submitted to represent DDS on a State Level.
