Installing AT&T Global Passport

To run this downloadable version of Passport and/or the AT&T Global Dialer, you must be running Window 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000. You can install the Passport async dial program, the TCP/IP program, or both programs. Complete installation of either the async dial or the TCP/IP program requires approximately 4 MB of disk space. You must install and run the product on the hard disk or network server.

NOTE: A TCP/IP user must first install a Windows Sockets-compliant transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) package before using the TCP/IP version of AT&T Passport to connect to the network.

The following is information on how to install, set up, and start the program.

To install AT&T Passport:

  1. Open the Passport Installation file. (Download AT&T Passport V3.1A [1.3MB])
  2. In the Directory Path field, specify the Windows group where AT&T Passport will reside. The default is c:\pas13.
  3. In the Group Name field, specify the Windows group where AT&T Passport will reside. The default is AT&T Passport.
  4. To continue the installation, ensure that either the Async or the TCP/IP Install buttons, or both, are highlighted. Then, click OK. The system installs either the asynchronous dial or TCP/IP program, or both programs.
  5. At the 32 bit HLLAPI Support Screen, choose Yes or No.
  6. Choose the name of the Program Group where Passport to be installed. Use the default location or select another location.

When the installation is complete, the system displays the Windows group with the icons appropriate for your installation.
