PDPS cleanfile date is March 10 2012
The National Driver Register is informing States that the next PDPS Cleanfile date is March 10, 2012. Cleanfile is an optional process. It is a means for a State to refresh the pointers it has on PDPS. NDR replaces all pointers on the PDPS file with the Cleanfile set of pointers sent by the State. If you plan to participate in this Cleanfile, please let NDR know prior to March 1, and plan to send your file to NDR no later than Tuesday, March 6. Consider sending a small test file ahead of time to test connectivity and formatting. Cleanfiles must be submitted via Secure FTP or FTP. If an FTP connection has not been established or tested since March 27, 2011, please allow 2-3 weeks to establish and test connectivity. If you plan to participate in this Cleanfile or if you have any questions please send an e-mail to NDR_Operations@dot.gov.

Important Social Security Number Enhancement - Randomization
On June 25, 2011, SSA changed the process for issuing SSN’s. One of the changes now allows for the inclusion of “8” as the first character in an SSN.
Refer to http://www.socialsecurity.gov/legislation/RecentIssues.html#Random for more information on the entire enhancement referred to as “randomization”. Also, be aware that these changes to the SSN may require in house systems and/or business process updates to accommodate SSN randomization.
If you have any questions, please contact the AAMVA Operations Department at 1-888-226-8280 option 3 or Helpdesk@aamva.org.
