    Boyd Dickerson-Walden currently serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Director of the Division of Information Systems Administration (ISA) at the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV).  He is accountable for all information technology functions including: computer software development and implementation, technical help desk, communication networks (voice and data), data and database management systems, logical administration, information security, information sharing, messaging and collaboration systems, and change management.  ISA provides and supports critical systems that are used to store information vital to the Florida Highway Patrol, and issue and store information for driver licenses, vehicle registrations, and vehicle and vessel titles.

    Boyd has been serving DHSMV since 1987.  He joined the Department as a computer programmer and has served in various roles throughout his career.  Before his appointment as CIO, Mr. Dickerson-Walden served four years as the Director of the Division of Motorist Services, which consolidated the Division of Driver Licenses and the Division of Motor Vehicles.

    Boyd earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Florida State University.  His background includes experience in business development activities, project management, strategic planning, and software development and implementation.  His main area of focus is applications programming.

    Boyd has been an active member of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) for over twenty-five years. He was a member of the original NMVTIS Working Group and Inaugural Standing Committee.  He currently serves on the Region II Board and is a member of the AAMVA International Board of Directors.
