    Brenda R. Coone
    Deputy Commissioner of Revenue, Alabama Department of Revenue

    Brenda R. Coone began her career with the Alabama Department of Revenue in 1988.  She became the Deputy Commissioner for the Alabama Department of Revenue in November 2015.  Brenda is responsible for overseeing the Motor Vehicle, Property Tax, Information Technology, and Processing Divisions as well as the Discovery and Business Registration Units in the department.

    Prior to this appointment, Brenda served for nine years as the Director of the Motor Vehicle Division. She was responsible for administering the motor vehicle title, registration, and mandatory liability insurance laws.  Additionally, she administered the dealer licensing law, the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and International Registration Plan (IRP).

    Brenda earned a B.S. in Accounting from Alabama State University and a Masters of Science in Human Resources Management from Troy State University in Montgomery.

    Brenda is an active member of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) where she has served as Region II President (2014-2015), chaired and co-chaired committees, and served on the Three-Wheel Vehicles Working Group.
