The Fraud Prevention and Detection Award – Motor Vehicle Individual recognizes an individual who has made a specific contribution to thwart motor vehicle agency-related crime, such as a clerk who recognizes an individual who repeatedly submitted transactions, a technician who detected title fraud, a special agent who discovered odometer fraud, etc.
This is an individual award. There will be one motor vehicle agency individual recognized as the Regional winner in each region and of those four, one will be chosen as the International winner.
Selection Criteria
- Individual’s identified fraud or attempted fraud that led to further actions to decrease fraud and/or the apprehension of the perpetrators
- Individual’s actions were “above and beyond” normal job duties
- Outcomes were measurable
Eligibility
AAMVA’s Awards Program is open to all AAMVA jurisdiction members that are in good standing. Entries submitted for the 2021 Awards must have been conducted (produced, implemented, and/or developed) between October 1, 2019 and September 30, 2020. If an entry won an award in 2020, it cannot be resubmitted for 2021 unless it has major upgrades or developments.
