    Kurt Myers
    Deputy Secretary, Driver and Vehicle Services, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation

    Kurt J. Myers was appointed Deputy Secretary for Driver and Vehicles Services (DVS) for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) in June of 2007. In this position, Myers oversees nearly 1,100 Driver and Vehicle Services Employees who provide quality customer service, while keeping the safety and security of the commonwealth's 8.7 million licensed drivers and 11.3 million registered vehicle owner's a paramount focus.

    The Deputy Secretary for DVS oversees key highway safety improvements relating to driver behavior, a customer-forward business approach, implementation of motorist-related legislation, and integration of new initiatives that improve customer services through streamlined processes and use of new technologies. Myers is also responsible for the regulatory oversight of 97 facilities across the commonwealth that issue driver's licenses and identification cards as well as approximately 5,000 new and used car dealers, 2,500 agents, 17,000 vehicle safety inspection stations and over 7,000 emission inspection stations.

    In addition to his work at PennDOT, Myers has also been active in the International Registration Plan. Myers served on IRP's board of directors from 1999 to 2009, and was chair of the board in 2005 and 2006. Myers currently serves on the AAMVA board of directors.
