  • The key to any association’s viability is the involvement of its members. AAMVA’s committee and working group members lead program and policy development. AAMVA's standing committee structure reflects the three core business functions of the membership. There are three standing committees: Driver, Law Enforcement and Vehicle. Each committee has members from nine AAMVA discipline areas. In addition, the committees oversee the many working group projects.

Direction and leadership for AAMVA begins with the Board of Directors. The decisions of the board, which holds meetings throughout the year, are executed by the AAMVA President and CEO along with AAMVA staff.

    Starwood Guest Reservation Database Breach

Marriott International has announced that its Starwood reservation database has been hacked, potentially since 2014. Marriott acquired Starwood in 2016 and includes St. Regis, Westin, Sheraton, and W Hotels. AAMVA has used many of these properties over the last four years. We are identifying the hotels we have worked with and will attempt to identify the potential exposure to our conference attendees. Marriott has indicated that they will directly be reaching out to affected customers. Marriott has provided information and an FAQ document should you want additional information.

AAMVA’s awards program fosters a tradition of excellence in the motor vehicle and law enforcement community by honoring individuals, teams, and organizations who have committed their time and resources to safety and security initiatives, outstanding customer service, and public affairs and consumer educational programs throughout North America. Each year, AAMVA receives numerous outstanding submissions in each category and through a rigorous judging process selects those that are exemplary. Awards are presented at our Regional Conferences and at our Annual International Conference.
