    Sarah Garcia is the Administrator for the Montana Motor Vehicle Division under the Montana Department of Justice. She was appointed to this position in August 2014.  Prior to her appointment, Sarah served in the Judicial Branch in the Office of the Court Administrator for a year. Before working in the courts, Sarah served a 20 year career in the active duty Army, both as an enlisted Soldier and as an officer. She retired from active duty in 2013 as a Major and returned to her home state of Montana. 

    As a military officer, Sarah was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers and has 20 years of organizational management experience from her military service, 9 years of project management experience, as well as her experience as a manager and director of multiple diverse organizations ranging in size from nine to over 350 people. She served in a variety of positions of responsibility including platoon leader, company commander, battalion operations officer, battalion executive officer and culminated her military career working as an adviser to general officers.  

    Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science and a Master of Arts in Public Administration and is a certified mediator. Her community works includes sitting on local boards for youth sports and involvement in military and veteran outreach.

    Sarah is currently serving as the Vice President for AAMVA Region IV Board of Directors.
