Immersive Experience* or Free Afternoon

*The immersive experiences listed below are available to AAMVA jurisdiction members only. Limited space is available and registration must be made no later than May 30, 2025.

Option 1: Vermont DMV Customer Service Center

(20 people maximum)

Jurisdiction members will have the opportunity to tour the Montpelier DMV Customer Service Center. This tour will offer an immersive experience showcasing the collaboration among various entities to serve their citizens including front facing customer service, Call Center and more.

Option 2: Law Enforcement Experience

(20 people maximum)

Law Enforcement attendees will have the opportunity to tour the I-89 Northbound Weigh Station located in Colchester. The tour will include the conducting of a Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspection detail. Vermont DMV is the lead MCSAP agency for FMCSA. Inspectors will be utilizing the latest technology that was recently installed last December. The technology, a Smart Roadside Inspection System, was installed by and is maintained by Drivewyze. The technology is installed on the highway on the mainline in both barrels approximately ¼ mile before the weigh station. The technology includes a tire anomaly system, Weigh-in-Motion scales, an overview camera, US DOT number reader, and a hazardous materials placard reader. The technology reads, screens, and transmits the information in real time to the Inspectors at the weigh station as the CMV passes by the system. The Inspectors can then use that information to prescreen and make their selection for inspection based upon factors such as overweight, carriers operating under a Federal Out of Service Order, tire anomalies detected (flat tires/low tires/etc.), or poor motor carrier safety rating. This system has proven very effective in detecting violations and out of service violations. Inspectors will be on hand to explain the commercial vehicle inspection process and demonstrate the Smart Roadside Inspection System capabilities.

Option 3: Vermont Air National Guard 158 Fighter Wing Tour

(40 people maximum.)

Tour of the facility and aircraft (F-35A Lightning II–the most advanced and capable weapon system in the U.S. Air Force) beginning at 1:00pm. The base is located at the Burlington airport, which is 2 miles from the Hilton (and where some of you may be flying in).
