NMVTIS Direct Reporting Service Terms & Conditions of Use

This site is provided exclusively for use by junk and salvage yards, auto recyclers and insurance carriers (NMVTIS reporting entities) that are required to report vehicle inventory information to the National Motor Vehicle Title Information Service (NMVTIS). Use of this site is subject to the terms and conditions set forth below. Users of this site will be bound to these terms and conditions. Please read the following information carefully. If you are not a NMVTIS reporting entity PLEASE EXIT THIS SITE IMMEDIATELY.

In its capacity as the system operator of the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System, AAMVA has developed this site to enable NMVTIS reporting entities to submit information on vehicles that are junk or salvage (which includes total loss) to comply with the requirements of the NMVTIS Final Rule. This website has been developed in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice. The NMVTIS Direct Reporting Service is provided to NMVTIS reporting entities at no charge. The services provided on this website are basic and have only limited customer support. Questions are handled via email communications only. Inquiries will be responded to within 48 hours of receipt.  

This website will allow a NMVTIS reporting entity to do the following:
  • Register to use AAMVA as their data consolidator using their existing reporting entity ID number issued by another data consolidator.
  • Register to use AAMVA as their data consolidator and obtain a newly issued reporting entity ID number.
  • Once registered with AAMVA as the data consolidator, this website will allow a user to:
    • Make changes to company registration information
    • Report vehicles that are junk or salvage (which includes total loss)
    • Check full vehicle reporting history through the NMVTIS Direct Reporting Service
    • Submit comments on vehicle reports that were previously reported through the NMVTIS Direct Reporting Service, in error
    • Review comments on all vehicles previously reported in error through the NMVTIS Direct Reporting Service
NMVTIS reporting entities entering and submitting information to AAMVA using this site will be deemed to have certified that all information is accurate, true, and correct.
