Owen McShane was appointed as a Deputy Commissioner of the New York State DMV in June 2022. Prior to this appointment he served as an investigator for DMV for over 30 years, starting at an entry level position and reaching Director. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Albany College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity. He is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Counterterrorism at the University of Albany Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy.
