Sergeant Ivan Morales died as the result of cancer that he developed following his assignment to the search and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks.

Sergeant Morales served with the New York State Police Department for 17 years. His response to the 9/11 recovery was during his four year service with the New York City Police Department. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter, sister, nieces and nephews.
