Trooper Hunter Bennett was killed in a helicopter crash while assisting the Flagstaff Police Department with an active shooter.

Police officers were responding to a domestic violence call when a subject began shooting. Trooper Bennett and Aviation Supervisor Robert Skankey, who piloted the helicopter, responded. The helicopter crashed while providing tactical support, killing both Trooper Bennett and Aviation Supervisor Skankey.

Trooper Bennett served with the Arizona Department of Public Safety for over three years and is survived by his wife.
