Staff Project Manager
The purpose of the License Plate Standard Working Group is to review and update AAMVA's 2020 License Plate Standard, Edition 2 to assist jurisdictions to design and manufacture license plates that will maximize license plate readability by human eye and license plate reader technologies. The group will conduct a gap analysis by comparing the current standard and the latest information, provide more definitive standards for alternative license plates, include new information on temporary plates and their issuance business processes, and include a new appendix describing the benefits of and how to participate in the AAMVA License Plate Verification Program.
The new standard is expected to be published in fall 2023.
