AAMVA's Jurisdiction to Jurisdiction Learning Program in New Hampshire

10/19/2026

On October 12, 2026, the New Hampshire DMV conducted its 4th Annual Columbus Day Division-wide training which allowed for all 220 employees eight hours of consistent, standardized Emergency Preparedness Training. Closing all DMV offices on a regularly scheduled business day required months of planning and choosing a date that would have the least impact on our customers. Columbus Day was chosen as it is not a recognized state holiday, and the volume of customer transactions and calls are much lower than any other Monday during the year.

Training sessions required precision scheduling and the ability to think outside the box to ensure all 220 employees received consistent training with limited space, requiring splitting into two groups, and three teams within each group. Employees received hands-on Stop the Bleed, CPR, Narcan and AED training provided by the NH Division of Fire Standards and Training and Emergency Medical Services; Recognizing Human Trafficking provided by US Homeland Security; Information Security and Insider Threat Awareness provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as training in Suspicious Packages, Threat Assessment and real-time practical Active Shooter Preparedness training offered by the New Hampshire State Police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit.

Special guests included Mississippi Director and AAMVA International Board Member Treasure Tyson, and Deputy Director Jack Lilley who were sponsored by the Jurisidiction to Jurisdiction Learning Visits.
