The ACD and CDLIS Subcommittees met last week in Seattle, Washington. Collectively, these two groups are tasked with examining and updating the AAMVA Code Dictionary (ACD)—the set of codes used nationwide by driver-licensing authorities and stakeholders to communicate convictions and withdrawals between jurisdictions—as well as guiding improvements to the Commercial Driver’s License Information System (CDLIS). Their work includes addressing known limitations, prioritizing enhancements, and identifying opportunities to improve both systems, while also ensuring uniformity, consistency, and future growth across AAMVA applications, procedures, and best practices.
