On July 8, 2025, the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) Law Enforcement Subcommittee—comprised of technical advisors and representatives from 8 AAMVA member jurisdictions—convened to discuss ongoing initiatives and future priorities in support of vehicle crime prevention and title fraud enforcement. The subcommittee plays a critical role in improving the Law Enforcement Access Tool (LEAT) within NMVTIS and assists regulatory administrators with their enforcement and compliance efforts. The meeting, held in conjunction with the NMVTIS State Program Subcommittee meeting, underscored the importance of interagency collaboration and the continued evolution of NMVTIS LEAT as a cornerstone in the fight against vehicle fraud and theft. The State Program Subcommittee also discussed AAMVA's E-title Proof of Concept with an eye towards how NMVTIS may interact with an e-title transaction. Both groups reviewed completed and outstanding goals and prepared for the NMVTIS State Users Workshop that took place the following day.
