NMVTIS Law Enforcement Subcommittee

AAMVA's National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) Law Enforcement Subcommittee maintains a record of NMVTIS jurisdiction enforcement laws intended to help law enforcement, DMV investigators, and administrators in keeping informed about laws that may assist with NMVTIS enforcement and regulatory efforts. NMVTIS is an electronic system designed to protect consumers from fraud and keep stolen vehicles from being resold. NMVTIS captures specific pieces of vehicle information from state motor vehicle titling agencies, automobile recyclers, junk and salvage yards, and insurance carriers into one system. NMVTIS law enforcement access is intended to provide local, state, and federal law enforcement with the information necessary to investigate, deter, and prevent vehicle-related crimes.
